Kimberley Karavan
Tows low like a camper trailer, then rises into a hard-sided caravan at the push of a button - in about a minute. The original expandable off-road camper, built for the long way round.
Priced from $125,885 · Driveaway pricing & finance available at SEQ Campers
A camper trailer on the road. A caravan at camp.
The Kimberley Karavan solves the oldest compromise in touring. On the road it tows low, light and compact - you can see straight over the top, and it tracks behind your 4WD like a camper trailer through dust, ruts and river crossings. Pull up, undo six latches, press a button, and an electric actuator lifts it into a full hard-sided caravan with a queen bed, kitchen and ensuite. About a minute, no canvas wrestling, no poles.
Built in Australia with a hot-dipped galvanised chassis, independent suspension and a timber-free composite body, the Karavan is engineered to stay out longer and hold its value for years. Backed by Kimberley Kampers' decades of off-road experience, and sold and serviced locally by SEQ Campers on the Sunshine Coast.

Kimberley Karavan FAQ.
What is the Kimberley Karavan?
The Karavan is a premium expandable off-road camper. It tows low and compact like a camper trailer, then unfolds into a hard-sided, walk-in compact caravan in about a minute at the push of a button. It has a queen bed, an internal ensuite, a full outdoor kitchen and genuine off-grid power, on an Australian-made galvanised chassis. It comes in Classic and Eco-Suite versions.
How much does the Kimberley Karavan cost?
The Classic starts from $125,885 and the fully-equipped Eco-Suite from $153,935. SEQ Campers on the Sunshine Coast can give you a driveaway price and offers finance.
What's the difference between the Classic and Eco-Suite?
Both share the same expandable body, queen bed and outdoor kitchen. The Classic is the core off-road tourer with a Kwik awning, steel wheels and an upgradeable power system. The Eco-Suite is the fully self-contained flagship - adding Air Suspension PLUS with remote-reservoir shocks, 480W solar, a full shower stall with waterless composting toilet, air-conditioning, a dual induction cooktop, Smart Touch PLUS monitoring, a water filter and a Bedouin awning as standard.
How does it set up, and how long does it take?
Set-up takes about a minute. You undo six latches and press a button, and an electric actuator raises the roof and rear into a full hard-sided living space. Because it tows low - you can see over the top - it behaves like a camper trailer on the road but becomes a compact caravan at camp.
What vehicle can tow a Kimberley Karavan?
The Karavan has a tare from about 1,510kg and an ATM of 2,495kg, so it's towed by most mid-size and larger 4WDs with a braked towing capacity of 2,500kg or more. We're happy to confirm the match for your tow vehicle.
How many people does it sleep, and does it suit families?
It sleeps two on a queen bed as standard, and up to six with the optional bedroom annex and bunk beds - so it works for couples and small families alike.
Does it have a bathroom?
Yes - an internal ensuite area with a shower and ensuite curtain. A full shower stall, a waterless composting toilet, diesel hot water and an outside shower are available, and many of these come standard on the Eco-Suite.
Where can I buy a Kimberley Karavan on the Sunshine Coast or in Queensland?
