Kimberley Kruiswagen - Kimberley Kampers · Off-Road Motorhome
The short version

The motorhome you drive, not the van you tow.

The Kruiswagen is Kimberley Kampers' luxury off-road motorhome. Everything lives in the one vehicle - kitchen, bathroom, bed, lounge and power system - all built into a 4x4 body, so there is no caravan trailing behind you and nothing to hitch, reverse or set up. You drive to the spot you want, and you are already home.

It is built for the same places a Kimberley van goes, just without the tow vehicle. Underbody protection, a 4x4 drivetrain and serious off-grid power let you head well past the bitumen and stay there. Inside, a loft bed that lowers from the ceiling, a full kitchen and a moulded ensuite give you proper home comforts in a footprint under seven metres long.

Built to live in

What makes the Kruiswagen different.

Real off-grid touring comfort in a vehicle you can drive on a regular licence, set up in minutes and take a long way off the highway.

01

One vehicle, no towing

Kitchen, bathroom, bed and lounge are all built in. Nothing to hitch or reverse - you drive the whole rig to camp and step straight inside.

02

PowerGlide loft bed

A large bed lowers from the ceiling when you want it and lifts away when you do not, freeing the living space below for the dinette and desk through the day.

03

Full off-grid power

48V lithium system with up to 10,000Wh of storage and high-efficiency solar panels. The air conditioning can run from the batteries through the inverter, topped back up by solar.

04

Proper kitchen

Induction cooktop, a 190L fridge with built-in TV and Corian benchtops inside, plus marine-grade stainless outdoor kitchen options for cooking under the awning.

05

Moulded ensuite

A light, airy bathroom with a shower and a waterless composting toilet - chemical-free, odourless and no need to carry a freshwater reserve just for flushing.

06

Smart water system

Twin tanks with a Kwik filler, an emergency supply, and a Visi-flow setup that lets you pump and filter straight from a stream when the tanks run low.

07

Genuine off-road body

Underbody protection for the engine, differential and transfer case, a roof rack and spare tyre rack, with an optional bull bar for remote touring.

08

No-timber construction

Cabinets and furniture are high-grade alloy, composite and thermoplastic instead of timber, so the build handles damp and corrugations without swelling or splitting.

09

Connected and ready

A Smart Touch Plus display and phone app show tank levels and fridge temperature, with 12V USB points throughout and a dedicated Starlink-ready power outlet.

Is the Kruiswagen right for you?

Who it suits best.

Couples who want to drive, not tow

If reversing a van or hitching a trailer is the part of touring you dread, the Kruiswagen removes it entirely. One vehicle, sleeps two, and you are set up the moment you stop.

Long off-grid trips

With up to 10,000Wh of lithium storage, solar, twin water tanks and a waterless toilet, it is built to stay out well past the powered sites for days at a time.

Remote, rough-track travellers

A 4x4 drivetrain plus underbody protection for the engine, diff and transfer case means you can take it a long way down the corrugations to reach the quiet spots.

Common questions

Kimberley Kruiswagen FAQ.

Do I need a special licence to drive it?

The Kruiswagen has a GVM of 4100kg, upgradable to 4430kg. A standard Australian car licence covers vehicles up to 4500kg GVM, so it can be driven on a regular car licence. We will confirm the exact figure for your build before you commit.

Is it a caravan or a motorhome?

It is a motorhome - you drive it. Everything lives in the one 4x4 vehicle, so there is no caravan to tow, hitch or reverse. You drive straight to camp and step inside.

What is it built on?

The Kruiswagen is built on a 4x4 cab-chassis as a self-contained off-road motorhome. Drop into SEQ Campers and we will walk you over the base vehicle and drivetrain in person so you know exactly what you are getting.

Can it really go off-road?

Yes. It runs a 4x4 drivetrain with underbody protection for the engine, differential and transfer case, a roof rack, spare tyre rack and an optional bull bar - built for corrugations and remote tracks, not just gravel.

How many people does it sleep?

Up to two. The PowerGlide loft bed lowers from the ceiling at night and lifts away during the day, so the living space below stays open for the dinette and desk.

How long can I stay off-grid?

It is built for extended off-grid touring - a 48V lithium system with up to 10,000Wh of storage, high-efficiency solar, twin water tanks and a waterless toilet. The air conditioning can even run from the batteries, replenished by solar.

Are there different versions?

Yes - the Kruiswagen comes in a Classic and a premium Ecoscape variant. We can talk through which suits your travel plans and budget when you visit.

Where can I see one near me?

At SEQ Campers on the Sunshine Coast. We are your local Kimberley guide - come and walk through the Kruiswagen in person, ask the hard questions, and we will sort honest driveaway pricing and finance.

Ready to see the Kruiswagen for yourself?

Book a time with the SEQ Campers team on the Sunshine Coast, step inside the Kruiswagen and picture your next trip. We will walk you through the layout, the off-grid systems and the driveaway numbers - no pressure.
